Schroders events space mural

Environmental design, Large Format Graphics

A large-format wall vinyl for the events space at Schroders headquarters in London.

Schroders regularly hosts client events in their dedicated auditorium events space in London. I was approached by Schroders' events and brand team to redesign the foyer's large-format wall vinyl (10 meters wide x 4 meters high), from a photograph of London's city, to a more contemporary and vibrant design. They asked for something that aligned with the theme of sustainability, with artistic and conceptual qualities, whilst ensuring that it was still distinctively Schroders by including the Schroders lens (logo) in some capacity.

I combined the pattern and focus lens techniques and used the lens in a new and interesting way. I chose an autumnal forest scene as the orange and yellow colours match the warm lighting, aiming for a space where people can feel comfortable and relaxed.

Each lens is a different coloured pixel. If you are standing close to the vinyl, all you will see is a repeated lens pattern, as you move away, the full image becomes visible. The concept is to visualise that Schroders communicates primarily through data. When we understand the data, we have a better understanding of the world. Each lens represents a single piece of data, when you see all the lenses together, you can see the bigger picture.
